I support the umpire. He made a call, whether good or bad, whoever is yelling should’ve been ejected. And the guy is old and hears parking lot. That’s a common threat.

If he heard the words “parking lot” but not the rest very well, it’s reasonable to assume he thought the person said meeting him in the parking lot. It’s a comment they likely hear too much after heated exchanges. Probably wasn’t in the mood to give him/them the benefit of the doubt on what was or wasn’t said. Made a rash call, didn’t have the patience to be talked down from it. Lesson learned.

I thought it was a parent who said “I’ll watch you suck from the parking lot.” And I am one to believe that there had been a lot of chirping done by the parents before this. If so, that is a coaches responsibility to get to stop. If they don’t, I don’t blame an ump for forfeiting the game

Too many Umpires just calling games. I’ve pumped for 25 years and I have never called a game for anything other than weather. There are a few videos I’ve seen where I think it was valid, but most of the time they just need to grow up.

If your defense is "I'll watch you wick from the parking lot." Then your defense sucks. We have tolerated a culture of abuse and it needs to stop but umpires will have to change the culture by not tolerating it. Parents won't change until we start enforcing better behavior.
