May I recommend dying your hair black for 4 years then deciding you want to be blonde and getting highlights 3 times a year for the next 9 years? The damaged texture really helps the hair hold a little curl 😂

You need to put mousse, texture spray, or both before this. Your hair looks like mine — fine and silky. It doesn’t make for a hold. Use mousse and texture spray, let it air dry a bit then dry it/style and use hair spray afterwards. For bonus volume use big sexy hair mousse. Such a game changer!

I could be wrong but it looks like your hair is still wet when you’re initially drying it. I find it best to 90% dry with a round brush and then do my rolls with a barrel dryer

I’m not sure if this was mentioned but the hair should almost be entirely dry. Your hair looked more damp than dry. I think the hair being 100 percent dry and then spraying it with a spray bottle of water a couple of times before using the device would make it hold better. Also the hair cut itself makes a big difference. More layers = easier to hold a curl.

I have PIN STRAIGHT hair and I also have the shark blow dryer. I find not using conditioner helps because conditioner weighs straight hair so it’ll help the curls hold more cause it’ll have less weight weighing it down!

Air wrap is not a curling iron. It is a blow out tool. Mine never holds like a curl, but always falls to a nice blow out style

I have very healthy hair and mine last for days. I use WOW volume mousse/WOW blowout root spray. Blowdry roots/use the blowout brush to pull up roots. Section hair in 4 equal sections (put hair half up, divide 2 sections on bottom). For each piece, do at least 30-45 seconds hot and 30 seconds cold shock. For extra bouncy curls, roll in bobby pin immediately after curling.

hey i have super fine hair that REFUSESSS to hold anything, big sexy hair gel scrunched into hair when wet (before even partially dried), dry into the curls, pin up, big sexy hair texture powder, let hair cool to room temp, then it’ll set
