I’m in AZ and we just suffered a CITY WIDE power outage two days ago. 20 hours with NO electricity in 116 degree temps. People are going to die in masses if this continues.

reminder that this could mean life or death for people who rely on electricity to power breathing machines, refrigerators to store medications, etc. yes generators and backup batteries exist for this reason, but that’s not the point. not everyone has access to generators, and all batteries eventually die.

Amazing how our grid couldn't support EV charging infrastructure, but it "can" support higher-draw data centers. Clearly both cannot be true, but they want to build more data centers.

It might only be 10 minutes but could be awful for someone getting dialysis or in a surgery (though I hope hospitals have their own power supply). With the number of new data centres being 'promised' in USA you will be having blackouts constantly
