@mollymargaretdesigner: This is what’s happening right? Because ain’t no way a museum is paying 50k for. “Content Manager” to come into office everyday and cosplay as an entire marketing team. But don’t worry… they OFFER health care that you still have to pay for and free parking, and they went with someone with more experienced anyway. Maybe next year they’ll lower the salary and add more reponsibilities!! #jobhunt #jobsearch #jobs #jobmarket #marketing

I work in nonprofit and have turned down interviews for jobs that jad FIVE nonprofit roles rolled into ONE. It was basically a whole fundraising department in one role.

Basically, they want us to have twice the education, twice the work load, and pretend that we are whatever title so they can pay us less

I work in digital/marketing and am getting cooked cause companies no longer just want a video person, a graphic designer, a social media manger, etc. They want a videographer who does graphic design, social media marketing, will do internal copy, run the podcast, do website UX, and maintain SEO all for 50k. That is an entire marketing team in one position..... If I could do all that, I'd just freelance as an entire marketing team, not work for a corporation that will just bend me over and take advantage of me.

The amount of “entire marketing team” job descriptions I’m seeing is bonkers. I’m a Brand Director seeing roles calling for full brand strategy (from planning to execution and reporting); full social strategy, calendar, posting, community moderation, reporting; paid digital media; offline media buying; project management for the entire 360° campaign process; etc. it is batshit crazy. All for less pay (once adjusted for inflation) than I earned 5 years ago.

They don’t want to do their jobs anymore either. Telling someone they need experience in a laundry list of tools when that is exactly what internal training is for, wipes excellent candidates right off the board

This is exactly what I’ve been running into. The job description describes the whole IT team from CIO to JR role for one title. The “duties” are 25+ bullets. The salary is $50k and they want 7 years experience.

Every year I feel like more roles get clustered into one for terrible pay, but people settle for these jobs out of need. I feel like there is less and less office jobs since things get clustered. I also feel like we are in a weird phase of jobs where technology is effecting the job market and we’re not fully adjusting.

No fr the job market sucks rn. I ended up getting my smm job by tailoring my resume using a custom resume website! It’s called mymoonlight.ai. It honestly helped! But it sucks we have to combat ai with ai

I noticed this so so much! the salary does not align with the actual responsibilities and then they act like you're crazy for asking for the salary that does align with the role

Had a hiring manager be disappointed I didn’t have experience in something that is no where on the job description and the entire reason for the opening. So they are 100% using AI based on title and industry and not even including company needs.

I came across a job today that was just a customer service representative, paid under $20 an hour, and the job responsibilities are similar to that of a healthcare operations manager.

Even receptionist jobs are combining different jobs under the label for less pay. I’m so confused. Is it on purpose? Is it the AI?

14 months and zero interviews. But I’m also having a hard time applying for roles where it is having to do the work of an entire marketing team for half the salary if not more and lower title than my last few jobs. So I’m really limiting myself on the roles I apply to. It’s insane.
