Her name is Leyla Adam Hassan. Justice for Leyla. ✊🏻 She was born in the UK, but her life changed forever when she was just 12 years old. In an emotional interview on the Ridhwan Issack Podcast, she shares a story she kept hidden for many years. Her mother passed away shortly after giving birth to her, and she was raised by her aunt, who was her mother’s twin sister. When she turned 12, her aunt told her they were travelling to Saudi Arabia to attend her older sister’s wedding. Instead, she found herself landing in Mogadishu, Somalia. According to her account, her aunt handed her over to another woman before returning to the UK. She also claims that her travel documents were then used by another girl to enter the UK fraudulently. She says that after some time, she was forced to marry her cousin, the son of another one of her aunts. According to her, she spent the next 25 years living under strict control, gave birth to 12 children, and was never allowed to leave the house. This month, she says she finally escaped that life.
