Fell away from my friend group this past year, they insisted they’d plan my 30th, it never went ahead and I didn’t even get a happy birthday message from any of them. I got all the blame for being excluded. Their loss not mine, I got upset last year for not getting my same efforts reciprocated, then once I pulled back my efforts, I was the problem.

Yessss, how people move when there is an injustice speaks volumes, rejection is protection. I have the bestest friends in my life who I love so much but my whole life group dynamics for me have always been so stressful I can’t do disingenuous friendships or conversations. I had some horrible things happen to me and was targeted so badly and seeing people being able to turn their eye daily to evil is so scary haha, but I’m in a much happier place now while the drama still continues over there 😅 but it can really make you blame yourself it takes a lot of awareness and strength to understand these dynamics sometimes

I totally get you but interested in your thoughts: we have a unique situation in our group where one person is quite an extreme personality. She often dominates the conversation, she sometimes speaks down to someone in the group. She has a bad relationship with her mother and has had infertility issues so we give her grace. She’s also fun, thoughtful and caring a lot of the time! We do sometimes talk about her behind her back. It’s not gossipy but more sharing / solidarity and maybe thinking of how we handle it. She is actually the person who linked us all years ago. We want to be good friends to her but it’s hard. What would you think of us? Would you think we are horrible gossips? Would you just walk away because of this one person?

100% this. I've noticed this very recently in a new group, a very sharp response to someone. I instantly thought "you're not for me ". Even though it had nothing to do with me, it was an early warning sign.

been there took years to heal. one ring leader who was apparently my best friend for years . the rest followed like ducks. I dont look back in anger and have such true loyal friends now. so glad I walked away from the group when I seen their true colours 👌

I was isolated by someone who was a former friend and a couple of the people in our group and extended group were terrified of speaking up or saying anything, it was really disappointing. and the day has come for one person so far!
