@hannahameliaviney: PMDD apparently came from nowhere. Conveniently, “nowhere” begins exactly where the pharmaceutical history becomes uncomfortable. #pmdd #contraceptivepill #hormonehealth #adhd

You explained that perfectly! After fighting back and fourth with drs for YEARS I put myself back on the pill to subside the pmdd symptoms as the health system failed me

Anyone else get DEBILITATING periods YEARS after coming off the pill? Like feels like you’re dying?!

It changed my whole personality, and gave me bad acne. There is a book about how the pill affects not only your hormones but your whole social trajectory. (For example partners your choose/friends) Terrifying.

Is the copper iud better as it’s not hormonal? Or does it also have bad side effects?

I took it because my periods were about as predictable as my partners Spotify songs! It has massively helped me be more hormonally regular and now I dont cry over stepping on an ant. Also I couldnt cope with the latex feel of condoms and was happy to go on contraceptives. I know and appreciate this isnt the case for everyone and as much as its helped me dont think the Pill should be the answer either

I hate being on the contraceptive pill but its the only thing that has ever worked for my hormonal acne. It was so severe and painful. I tried everything, but only the pill worked and keeps it at bay 😭

It’s only once I came off it I realised how depressed and unmotivated it made me. I thought that was just normal but now I’m not taking it I’ve realised I wasted 15 years feeling meh.

I used to back to back them too! I think the doctor called it seasonal method. I took packs and packs without a break! Think I was meant to take 3 months then a break but I didn’t as I was happy to not have a period. I was always a proper moody person too! 🤣

You're right,no one questions anything do they. I started my period at 9,& spent every month until I was 16 in horrendous pain. The pill resolved that overnight. So for me, it was a god send.

Lol I’ve been on the pill for 14 years and only this year did a nurse ask me if I’ve ever had a break from it because I probably should 🥲

i can’t think of a reason why a 16 year old should have to start taking the pill instead of using condoms unless they had medical reasons to do so, most 16 year olds i knew were either virgins or had sex very rarely, i only started taking it when i went to uni and was in a relationship because it was the easiest way to fully prevent pregnancy, sorry you had that experience it shouldn’t be pushed on anyone

Feeeeel this, put on it at 14 for my skin, im now 27 and have had no breaks, but now they sorta think I have Endo and they way they treat that is… you guessed HORMONESSS! drs have said there’s nothing medically wrong or troubling with taking it for that long so I’ll have to hope I guess?
