I use to take it but it damaged my muscles. My CK lab went up to almost 5000, it caused polymyositis an autoimmune disease. I didn't know until my labs were drawn. After that they took me off statin called Atorvastatin.

My cholesterol is perfect. only 3.6 But my cholesterol around my heart isn't. because I have Rheumatoid arthritis mine caused by inflammation. I hate taking statins im only on 20mg. But Cardiologist says if I don't I could have a stroke or heart attack, even though only mild connary heart disease. I have a good Mediterranean diet and exercise. So should I ignore my Cardiologist?
