What you’re doing is taking the words “under investigation” and dishonestly translating them into “proven corrupt.” Farage has not been convicted of anything over the £5 million. It was a gift from a cryptocurrency billionaire, and the parliamentary inquiry concerns whether it should have been declared as an interest. Parliament itself explicitly says that opening an inquiry does not mean the rules were broken. He resigned to trigger a by-election, stand again and let the voters of Clacton decide—not because he had been found guilty or forced out. (Parliament News) Reform did offer to cover the by-election cost. The government says it cannot legally accept that payment, so criticise the decision to trigger it if you like—but don’t pretend Reform never offered. (LBC) The Met investigation is also real, but four donations did not all “come through Richard Tice’s business.” Two £250,000 donations came through Britain Means Business and two separate £250,000 donations were made directly by Fiona Cottrell. An investigation into the source and permissibility of money is not proof that Tice or Reform are corrupt. At present, you are announcing the verdict before the investigation has produced one. (The Guardian) And Labour is not simply “ahead of Reform in the polls.” One poll has Labour ahead 28–24, while YouGov still has Reform ahead 23–21. Burnham has just become prime minister and is receiving the completely predictable new-leader honeymoon. You cannot take one favourable poll, ignore the others and then declare that your preferred explanation has been scientifically proved. (The Guardian) So the truthful position is: there are legitimate questions being investigated, no guilt has been established, Reform offered to pay for the by-election but legally cannot, and the polling remains extremely close and inconsistent. That isn’t defending corruption. It’s understanding the rather basic difference between an allegation, an investigation and an actual finding.

I have confidence in our new prime minister, Andy Burnham. He's the person who has influenced many people's opinions, including mine. I'm happy to support Labour again.
