I will explain Vegeta writing bc y'all are just hating. When Vegeta first shows up, he is pure evil arrogant ruthless and entirely driven by pride. But Toriyama gave him a compelling backstory right away he is the Prince of a fallen race, forced to serve Freeza, the tyrant who destroyed his home planet. On Namek, he plays a brilliant third-party antagonist, using cunning and desperation to fight both Freeza's army and Goku's friends. 2 (Android & Cell Arcs) This is where his writing gets truly interesting. He settles on Earth, but he isn't a good guy. He is obsessed with surpassing Goku (Kakarot).
