There isn’t good evidence that prostate biopsies cause clinically meaningful cancer spread. Multiple large studies over decades have shown no increase in metastasis or prostate cancer–specific mortality attributable to biopsy. While tumor cells can occasionally be detected in the needle tract or bloodstream after a biopsy, that has not been shown to translate into worse oncologic outcomes. Modern transperineal biopsy further minimizes any theoretical risk. We should be careful not to confuse a biologic possibility with a clinically proven one.

Not true. If you suspect and it will be delay in expert consultation then yes biopsy and referral.
