@bergerxgolf: I thought The Open would be the best golf of the trip… then I stopped here on the way home. Heading back to London, I met up with Theo and finally played Forest of Arden. It’s easy to see why the Arden Course has hosted some of the biggest events in English golf. The layout keeps you thinking, the conditioning was spot on, and playing through the woodland with deer wandering around made the whole round feel a bit different. Even the bunkers deserve a mention — proper sand, not the gritty stuff that leaves your wedges looking battered after one shot. A brilliant course, a quality setting and the perfect way to finish the trip. Have you played Forest of Arden — and where should I stop on the next journey home?
