@currumbinwildlifehosp: This beautiful Greater Sooty Owl is currently receiving care after suffering from suspected rat bait toxicity. Birds of prey are particularly vulnerable to secondary poisoning, which can occur when they hunt rodents that have ingested rat bait. Even though the Owl isn't the intended target, the effects can be life threatening. The veterinary team is providing supportive treatment while closely monitoring its recovery. Once the toxin has cleared its system and it's deemed fit for life in the wild, the goal is to release it back where it belongs 🦉💚 Every patient admitted to the Wildlife Hospital relies on the generosity of supporters. If you'd like to help provide lifesaving care for native wildlife, you can donate via the link in our bio 💚
