No hate! But why do kids in the US need a new backpack every new school year???Like in Germany kids usually keep their backpack 4 years and then get a new one.

I cannot admit that I can’t afford things but NEVER in front of my kids. My parents used to do that to my siblings and I and it gave me unnecessary stress as a child. And it absolutely carried over into my adult life. Target wasn’t the place to shop in a budget.

I still don’t get the constant backpack shopping in the US. We buy one at the start of elementary school and then a new one after that ends. And maybe a third one towards the end of school.

Both of my boys still have their LL Bean backpacks from Elementary school. My oldest is a senior and his dad actually just borrowed it for vacation. I caved last year and bought Adidas and the zipper ripped out. Back to the LL Bean’s!
