bertholt was the only one from marley i ever felt real sympathy for. he had a real understanding and grasp of what he was and what is actions caused. he, in my opinion, was the only one to ever truly understand and grasp the weight of his actions. he never tried to excuse it, never tried to justify it, he just saw it for what it was, and i genuinely respected it.
