Yes you need to take them off 😭😭 got surgery November last year and it was delayed a couple of days because no one told me about the nails !!

Clip them short and sand them down if you can’t get a removal service in time. The point is to reduce risk of infection post op because stuff builds up under the nails. It also if you leave them on

Ive never had mine off and its never been an issue for me surgery 3 times.

When I had surgery I was told they needed to be able to see the color of my nailbeds throughout the surgery to make sure blood flow was sufficient 🤷
