Is water not safe for the elderly? Wouldn’t this thick water be easier to chock on? Or what is the safer issue?

This actually looks more pleasant than the starch-based thickeners we use here for dysphagia patients??????

I think an old folks home used to make my uncle eat water this way because cornbread made him choke. They said it was because of a partial paralysis of the throat muscles but all the men on that side of my family choked on their cornbread. They were weird.

In America, we have them as well. In fact, we have an additive that we can add to just about any drink to make it thickened.

Ive taken care of many people in the nursing home who are on thickened liquids, usually people who have dysphagia. where they can't swallow thin liquids properly
