the night after my baby was born I'll always remember waking up in the middle of the night with him fussing and immediately knowing what he needed. I got him up and changed his diaper and fed him and it felt like we were the only two people in the world at that moment. the next morning my husband asked why I didn't wake him up to help, I was like I didn't want to we were having a moment

My mom actually stayed the first night at the hospital to help my husband and I since my labor/delivery did not go as planned. I was so drugged and out of it she held my baby to my chest so I could do skin to skin with him, held him so he could nurse and taught my husband so much the first night. I can only hope I’m as good a mom as she was to me that night to my baby

I love seeing and feeling a good mothers touch your hands flow like water to touch it so lightly and pull away. I think I was in my late 30s and I’ll never forgive falling asleep when my mother blow dried my hair. It was the best feeling I’ve ever felt in the entire world.
