I read Empire of Pain last year because of your video. It got me hooked on narrative non fiction and I’ve read a few dozen in the months since (including Challenger and London Falling), but Empire of Pain is still probably my favorite. Patrick Radden Keefe is such a master storyteller.

Ravensbrück: Life and Death Inside Hitler’s Concentration Camp for Women by Sarah Helm is one of my favorite nonfiction books of all time and I personally think everyone should read it. It’s weaves together so many stories from survivors so perfectly. It’s also a story that’s largely overlooked in the overall narrative of the KL system and the Holocaust.
