my favourite thing about this kinda question are the car journalists who got surrounded at gunpoint because the AI read 4 characters of a lisence plate and decided that being literally half a country away is reasonable to cover in a few hours as well as finding 6 of the same stolen car

“Not captured” and “incorrectly captured” are two completely things. Those 7 “not captured” aren’t recorded at all. The less than 1 in 100,000 that are actually incorrectly captured (according to their published data) is included in that 93….

It doesn't make any sense that they'd get it wrong that frequently. License plates have a standard typeface. They're not trying to guess the character. They have a very small data set and the OCR algorithm ought to be perfect at distinguishing Os from 0s.

Zeros are used on license plates but an O is not so that one is irrelevant but im 100% against flock due to the bad eggs using it to stalk exes and who know what else. Great info.
