get your cna, wait two years on a waitlist to become a nurse, build the experience by being prn in a hospital AND a facility (figure out what you like), once you get into class stay prn at the one you like the most, have over 4 years of experience, get a recommendation from anyone that will write you one. Hanes/Fabletics Scrubs and Crocs. that’s what i’m doing at least lol

This is exactly what I did. CNA in med Surg, ASN, finishing BSN online while getting my ICU experience 😁… always busy, always tired, but in accomplishment shit left & right.

My work paid for my BSN and MSN. Also got me into my nursing program faster than the intended waiting list. But yes I was a CNA prior and it’s 100% necessary. This girl is a real one.

Being a new nurse and having the vet CNA run laps around you is a humbling experience. I swear this 50 year old lady had 10 hands 😭

My daughter got her Associates and RN at the same time. Did CNA during school breaks on med surg floors. Graduated and is now one year in as an oncology nurse at a university hospital, so is working and getting her BSN for free. No debt.

My daughter was a CNA while in nursing school and she was offered a job prior to graduation because of her experience and skillset - contingent on passing the NCLEX (which she crushed!) - great advice!!

I was thinking of becoming a pharmacy technician before I enter nursing school so at least I’m a bit ahead of pharmacology/DC..😭 is this a good idea?

EXCELLENT ADVICE. I would add, get critical care experience, then go to CRNA school.
