When we donate you give us shirts, beach towels, $20 gift card, and other promotions. But yet charge $15,000 for a patient to get blood transfusions. We also give blood for free and yet cancer patients or any other patients that needs it sometimes can’t even afford it.

See, I don’t even really care to be compensated for my blood. I’m glad to give it away to those who really need it. My issue is the hospitals CHARGING THE PATIENTS FOR WHAT I WILLINGLY GAVE FOR FREE. I want my donation passed on for free, as well.

I have type O & don’t ever plan to donate. Pay us or no blood. They have no problem charging us a crazy amount for it. No money or future credit towards a blood bag if we ever are in need of it.

I used to donate blood until realizing it was SOLD to patients. When I needed my own transfusion I sure paid for that!! Don’t ask people for something for free then turn around and charge those in need
