i feel like mine is sad compared to everyone else but i was so broke i didn’t have food in my house for a month. i only ate at work bc i was a cook/server/bartender. eventually my coworkers said “we’ve noticed you eat like a mf when you here” and i broke down on the line literally to my knees crying because i was so embarrassed and so mentally and physically exhausted. my boss paid for my groceries and paid my rent. i went to sleep that night full and thankful. i will never forget that part of my life. it’s honestly traumatizing.

freshly divorced in 2021...in nursing school...broke as fffffuk. My electric got shut off. I had a 14 yo in high school who needed to do her classes online (covid time). Paid my electric bill across four credit cards. I had $1.50 left in credit on one card and used that to fill my car up so that I could drive to class the rest of the week because they only pre authorize for $1.00. We ate beans, rice, and soup for WEEKS. anyhoo I make $95k now and have a 700 credit score. We eat steak and salmon a few times a week. My baby giril is 20 now and in college, living her best life. We do whatever we want. I took her to vegas for her 18th bday. I'm engaged to a new guy who pays most of the bills. The hard times were worth it.
