I used to work for them 14 years ago and I hated the fact that I was forced to log off and jump to forklift to start immediately to unload your truck. They would literally be on your ass after you are in dock work. What sucks is that by the time you logged off from P&D and onto dock you weren’t getting paid. Not to mention you didn’t do a post trip.

Why as truck drivers do we think working 70 hours a week is a good thing the company is getting over on us big time especially not paying ot after 8

Central transport in Nashville, TN. $30/hr with OT after 55hrs, 401k match capped at $600 per year, and insurance is borderline unaffordable. Pass.

I've always found it interesting how many CDL drivers focus on getting overtime after 8 hours or after 40 hours, especially in the LTL industry. I've worked for different companies. I used to complain about Central Transport paying overtime after 55 hours. But after I left and started working for companies that paid overtime after 40, I realized something: I was only working 42 to 45 hours a week. That meant I was only getting 2 to 5 hours of overtime. So does overtime after 8 or after 40 really matter if you're not getting enough hours in the first place? I'm sure it works out great for some drivers, and maybe it worked well for you. But personally, I'd rather have overtime after 55 and consistently make $130,000 to $140,000+ a year than have overtime after 8 hours but only make $85,000 because there just aren't enough hours available. That was my experience, and I know I'm not the only one who's seen it.

Out here in the south, central transport is bottom of the LTL game. Bottom feeders, they want to run your whole clock out at $30/$31 an hr and make you work the dock on line haul & city. OT after 55 but hey at least they get it 🤷‍♂️

Is it true that you have to load your own trailer at a dock workers rate and get paid a drivers rate only when driving?

Interviewing a guy that gets lots of favoritism out of Cali. I’m more than willing to give you a driver breakdown out of the Vegas terminal. Currently in the process of leaving worst decision was working for them a lot of loop holes that they use!
