My mom has dementia and I am exhausted. I don't know how much more I can take. It has drained me and I have gotten so depressed. She can get very agitated too, which is never fun to be around

if you have dementia and some confusion and still happy isn't as bad as someone who has a non stop yelling or anxiety and personality change. I work with behavioral dementia and these are the worst when nothing you do can give them comfort and constantly yelling or upset.

my mom passed with dementia, i cared for her till her last breath. she lived with me anyway for a long time before she got sick,but it was horrible to watch her suffer, and just stop breathing..its something you never get over.

Lost my darling hubby last May 2025 to vascular dementia you lose them over and over again I was with him at the end holding his hand that broke me completely I will never ever get over it 😭😭

Im caring for my mother who has dementia dx in 2020. I have watched her decline, it is a cruel dusease. Her short term memory is gone & her personality is gone. she thinks I am her sister. She just started be incont of urine at night.

I was 74-year-old caregiver my specialty is dementia. The sad part is when they realize that their mind is going and they can't remember and then they get agitated and mean I have a lot of patience and I don't mind helping and thinking for them but I do let them try to help themselves not to put them in danger but to bring back their dignity

I agree my dad had cancer and that was awful. He didn’t end up passing from that but my mom has dementia and this is 10xs worse. He passed away 5 months ago and the death of my dad made her need 24/7 care by me almost overnight

I had to watch it while taking care of my wife that had Alzheimer's and dementia until she past away with me at home and I will never forget it or get over it

mum has dementia, ive watched her slowly get worse, but the last 3 weeks have been the worst so far. shes gone downhill so fast. She needs full-time care now. I knew it was coming but its still heart breaking.

I agree. I'm currently dealing with my Maw Maw who raised me go through it. She in in the later stages of dementia. As of last week she has stared having violent outburst at the memory care unit she is in. Last night she pulled a fire alarm, spit medicine at a nurse, and tried to kick open doors. Its the hardest thing I've ever had to witness in my life.
