Riverdale had two! Katy Keene, which lasted for one season before getting canceled, and a Josie and the Pussycats backdoor pilot that never got made into its own show

gossip girl had a backdoor pilot for a prequel for serena’s mom if I remember correctly. kristen ritter and brittany snow starred, could’ve been good

Supernatural had several (and quite frankly the only one picked up was the least interesting idea). Bloodlines was supposed to be warring monster families mob style and Wayward Sisters would have focused on the female bounty hunters and Sheriff Jodie Mills

Pretty Little Liars now has two cancelled spin offs. The first one was cancelled quickly that Caleb was able to come back in the main show lol

For the finder, I can’t remember his name, but the big lawyer, who always advised him not to do stuff sadly passed away, and they chose not to move forward because it’s wasn’t the same without him

Enticing Conversation :
backdoor pilots are usually a bad sign for potential spinoffs of a show they are very rarely successful, hell even Supernatural had a backdoor pilot for a spin off show about supernatural crime families set in Chicago it didn't work out

Bobbi Morse was written off Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to go be on her own show, but that show never ended up getting made, and we have never seen her since 😭

I remember Sabrina the Teenage Witch, they were going to do a spin-off following Amanda, Sabrina's cousin, at her boarding school. I was so sad they didn't actually do it

Charmed had three planned spin-offs that never happened! One was a mermaid spin-off show (there’s a lot to that one I’ll unpack that in another comment), spin-off about Billie Jenkins (both of these two were cancelled after the WB/UPN merger that created the CW), and they toyed with the idea of a spin-off about the brothers Wyatt and Chris (they threw it out because it was too similar to Supernatural)

Technically it was a WB and UPN merger that turned into the CW.

The Finder was so good, I liked it a lot. It wasn’t perfect but it was fun. I’m sad it didn’t get at least 3 seasons

Because I loved Psych, Monk, and White Collar, The Finder really meshed well with that vibe
