@vibe_samurai: Sometimes the hardest person to grieve is someone who’s still alive. Because you don’t only miss them. You miss who they were with you. And perhaps that version of them wasn’t fake. Perhaps your love wasn’t blind. Perhaps some people are real chapters—not permanent characters. The past wasn’t necessarily a lie. It’s just no longer available. What’s harder: losing the relationship—or questioning whether the person you loved ever existed? For more strange, deeply human explorations, join my Substack through the link in my bio. I felt like I changed because of experiences, more education, problem solving, advancements in my career, raising kids. He was the same person I married with nothing stimulating to talk about, even the worn out jokes were the same. We ended up with nothing in common.

My husband changed after only 3 yrs of marriage. I stuck by him through all the verbal abuse. After 35 yrs, he passed away. Staying single for the rest of my life

It’s ok to grieve the loss, even if they’ve changed how you see them now. I’m sure even life with abusers there were good times (I know there were for me), and it’s ok to hold onto that. But take the lesson and move on. See the flags you need to set your boundaries against.

💯💯💯 I fell in love with someone and they became an addict. I had to remove them from my life because they were no longer the one I fell in love with. I have always felt like I was grieving. But I also hung on longer than I should have.

I'm seeing two completely different reactions to Clara Hartley's anxiety quiz. Some people say their result helped them understand themselves, while others say it got them completely wrong. Honestly, that makes me more curious to take it and see which group I end up in.

I nearly closed Clara Hartley's anxiety quiz halfway through because some of the questions didn't seem relevant at all. I'm glad I finished it though, because the result explained what those questions were apparently measuring. Still not sure I agree with everything, but it was interesting.

This s so real for me. Especially if you have a child that suffering from addiction. Remembering who they were and who they are now. He's right I never would have liked this person or gave them the time of day.

Most of the time it's because of a relationship with narcissistic person who makes us feel loved - lovebombs us. Then the change is really big and we wonder what happened and if they will change back. when someone changes naturally, we adapt or we go our separate ways. But, when someone becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol or goes to war and returns with PTSD we don't ask ourselves what happened we already know.

In my opinion you have completely nailed this for me. Iv moved on but still miss the person I felt myself with & allot more thoughts about this. But I and many may psychologically mature and change. With me, I will always be me & have deep down love for who I once loved but not for some that had the idea of love.
