It’s the same with GOOB in the sense that people headcanon him as Aroace simply because he’s ‘too childish’ or ‘too innocent’. It’s a stereotype that Aroace people are child like or don’t know what sex or romance is.

If this is a safe space for unpopular opinions/hot takes here's one from me: I think People drawing Vee(and some other female toons) Hypermasculine is rooted in harmful stereotypes made by misogyny.My reasoning for this is Vee unlike some other female characters isn't bubbly or cute but since she comes off as rude/mean and doesn't really cares and depends on anyone they associate her as masc/butch which I think is built on very harmful stereotypes caused by misogyny.This is commonly seen in fandom spaces when a female character is like her fandom spaces often draw that character as hypermasc.Though I don't think any artist deserve harassment from my take.

i just remembered this but I basically never see characters like Goob, Shelly, yatta, poppy, ECT headcanoned as aroace. which I think shows this point, these characters are bubbly and wear their heart on their sleeves, which is against what most people think an aroace person acts like. characters who don't fit the stereotypes are almost never headcanoned as aroace
