@journalsentinel: Our reporter joined the popular 2026 Riverwest 24 bike ride. The annual bike race, which spans 24 hours across the Riverwest neighborhood, took place on July 24 and July 25. Participants in the ride also took a break from its customary festivities to address a more somber matter: the death of Alex Pretti, a onetime participant who was fatally shot Jan. 24 by federal agents in Minneapolis. Around 300 bikers at the annual 24-hour bike race took a memorial lap honoring Pretti at noon July 25. Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse who grew up in Green Bay, was a cyclist and had participated in the race with his crew, Team Buddy System. Read more at the link in our bio.
