I disagree, my mom did do it for us because she divorced my dad. She wasn’t going to make it in Mexico and she knew that. My family was very poor. 20 years later we were able to build a house sending money back to Mexico. I never felt a sense of belonging in the USA. That’s why I left the USA… 2 years ago. 🇺🇸 I had DACA and I left. I’m grateful for experiences in the USA but I won’t ever trade my freedom in Mexico. Hawaii will always be home 🏡 too but living in Mexico is far superior on so many levels. I’m not the only DACA RECIPIENT to return to Mexico but this process isn’t for everyone. It’s not easy. I struggled a lot initially.

I don’t know what kind of background your family in Mexico comes from, but stop pushing the narrative that families who came to America were not fleeing extreme poverty. My grandma could not afford the 3rd grade; what makes you think my life would be any easier? I love Mexico, but let’s stop acting like the crime and economic inequality are not borderline inhumane.

and who are you to judge us parents???
how do you know how we feel???
just because your parents were probably like this or maybe because you had the opportunity to be legal doesn't mean you have the right to judge anybody!!!!

This is exactly why Im going to study in France to get EU citizenship. Im graduating high school next year and found out I wont even be able to do shit legally so Im just leaving. I was given the option for SIJS but It’s better getting citizenship to several countries in 5 years than getting citizenship for a single country in 10+ years.

Whole life in America, assimilated and became more American than actual “citizens” just to always be considered “illegal” by uneducated privileged white people 🥰
