This has been like that on twitch for years, usually twitch cuts your viewers supposedly because people usually just go in for drops or whatnot, but reason you see the .5. 4, .3, is because twitch doesn’t count 1 viewer as 1 viewer like normal sites, they cut them to keep more money for themselves, while giving you an excuse, another thing is, that they’re currently testing their viewer capping system to “combat bots”, basically if you get more than your average viewers, your average is what will be counted, so if one day you suddenly get 1k viewers, but your average is 100, then the extra 900 won’t count as views if that’s not your average. If someone raids you with those thousand, then twitch won’t count them either. In order to be counted, they’d likely have to make a purchase of something towards your stream. They’ve mentioned this before. It’s a small creator killer.

I noticed it today myself even as a smaller streamer! Went from 15 to 25 to 13 back up to 25 all within like 10 minutes it’s insane 😭

this usually happens when either twitch does some maintenance on the servers OR they are implementing something new either way expect a "dip" when they have finished haha

I always get a dip before ads hit but in the middle of ads it sometimes doubles then settles before freaking out 5mins later I hope they fix it as it's making me feel either false excitement or I'm doing something wrong
