@drea.nature.girl: It’s amazing what I’ve found here over the years. Finding new plants in a place I’ve lived for many years is just so crazy! This discovery is super cool and gives so much insight as to what this land used to be, and what it can become again. 🌱 Knowing the plants makes me feel so connected to the land, and allows me to better care for it 💚
Makes me wonder how many backyards have endangered species that just get mowed

It would be amazing if you reached out to your local agricultural extension or university to let them know. Sometimes they can do some really quick preservation work.

You might try to contact a university and see what the best way to proceed is. it might not like its roots Disturbed

If you are in a USDA area- you can contact the office and they might send someone out for free to assess and give you tips to help it have the best shot at long term survival.
So cool! 💜

I found some rare local endemics in my backyard. It’s really wild what people just mow down.

The seeds do well planted in wet soil so plant around a lot of rain. Good news they get a lot of seed from 1 plant.

Report out on iNaturalist. And if you have a state governing body that regulates environmental stuff.
