Coffee. People used to think coffee was bad for you (increase in hypertension, cancer, etc). We don’t think that anymore because we learned that the people they studied SMOKED CIGARETTES with their cup of Joe!! The same could apply here with TANNING BEDS. Yes, more people are using sunscreen, but tanning bed usage really increased from the 1970s and on.

Saying it was hard to live to 50 is disingenuous… technically a true statement because of a high infant mortality rate but you would likely live way past 50 if you made it past infancy. So your entire first point about skin cancer being more prominent over age 50 because that didn’t happen 100-200 years ago doesn’t work.

Skin cancer has literally been documented in ancient India, Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, ancient Egypt, etc. they would literally walk around with tumors on their skin. Tumors have been found on Mummies.
