Graham's number is an extremely large number from mathematics. It was introduced by mathematician Ronald Graham while working on a problem in a field called Ramsey theory. It became famous because of how unbelievably large it is. Graham's number is much larger than a googol, which is 1 followed by 100 zeros, and even much larger than a googolplex. It is so large that there isn't enough physical space in the observable universe to write out all of its digits. Instead of writing Graham's number normally, mathematicians use Knuth's up-arrow notation. It begins with g_1 = 3 \uparrow\uparrow\uparrow\uparrow 3, and each following number becomes dramatically larger. Graham's number is the 64th number in this sequence, G = g_{64}. Despite its enormous size, Graham's number is still a finite number. It is also not the largest number that mathematicians have defined; numbers such as TREE(3) are vastly larger.
