@rohinislm: Quick disclaimer: India is incredibly diverse, so this association is not universal. The meaning of white can vary depending on the region, religion, caste, community and even individual family traditions. In many Hindu communities, widows were historically expected to wear plain white clothing after their husbands died. But that does not mean white or every white saree is automatically associated with widowhood across India. In Kerala, for example, the traditional white or cream kasavu saree with its gold border is widely worn for celebrations, festivals like Onam, weddings and other important occasions. It is a symbol of Malayali cultural identity, not simply widow's clothing. So this video is explaining why the widow association exists in certain Indian communities not claiming that every Indian culture views white in exactly the same way. #india #indiatiktok #indian #wedding

It's a racist colonial take. White for good and black for death and evil
