ice had 3 IUDs and I cannot even empathize how much I loved them. 1 mirena and 2 paragards (one before pregnancy and one after). loved them. Would get another one if I hadn't gotten sterilized!

I LOVE my Paraguard. Insertion was horrendous but I’ve had no side effects for 10 years. Copper levels are perfectly level too. About to get another soon.

I am getting the Mirena in August. My provider prescribed me with a Percocet to take before and will be numbing my cervix with a spray at the time of the procedure. One of the things I was scared the most about was that I wouldn’t be given proper pain relief for the procedure, as that was something I had heard about a lot. But seeing that my provider cares about my comfort has put my mind at ease

Getting an IUD was the best thing I ever did. I have the mirena, the first few months I was bloated and had spotting but after that it’s been great. I’ve had since got 2 years now.

Is it common for providers to deny copper to younger teens who haven’t had children? I wanted copper bc I don’t want hormonal but unfortunately my provider would not do it. Never got a second opinion and just got kyleena but I am curious !
