It’s just excitement/overstimulation based. Many puppies wil do this when excited by large toys. Totally normal, I just wouldn’t encourage it and he will grow out of it as the novelty of the large toy wears off and it’s less stimulating to his little puppy brain.

Dogs humping isn’t always sexual :) it can often be an excitement outlet. That said, don’t neuter him until he is 2 years old at least
