@christophernolen1: Male Douglas squirrel chasing after a (too) young female who is barely not a baby anymore. He is new to the area so keeps a little distance from me giving her a chance to eat a little in peace. He won’t even stop to eat he is so focused. #squirrel #ritual #mating #preening feels extra good right now I am just guessing because he was doing it for awhile more than what I got videoed.

I have a boy squirrel that I rescued and was unable to release so he’s been with me for 10 years now. When I first saw him doing this I was like. WTF are you doing?!?? So when he does it I just turn away. Shocked I tell you. SHOCKED. I didn’t know they do that. 🤣
