Yeah, I was with him at first. As a state and people, we do tend to gloss over Afro Mexicans and their contributions to Mexican culture. However, going to a black American and asking about Afro Mexicans is like going to a British black person and asking them about African Americans. You're gonna get at least something from them, but its not the full story and basing your claims off a half baked story is more damaging at times. You are absolutely right, he could be using his platform to educate Mexicans and Mexican Americans about Afro Mexicans, but instead he's having this high horse about it

Mexico comes from the nahualt "Mēxihco", meaning "in the belly bottom of the moon". This because of the Geographic position of the ancient Mexico-Tenochtitlan. It has nothing to do with afro spanish people
