@travellingmia: There’s a lot more to this incident than this short video. I recorded the entire 40 minutes of this horid interaction with EDWARD at the Maverick off of Dublin and Powers in Colorado Springs CO. We are in the process of filling an ADA complaint, taking this to Maverick corporate and I will be taking him to court. Being refused service because you’re disabled and need a service dog to be with you is absolutely ridiculous. I UNDERSTAND they can refuse service to anyone, but it was clear why Edward decided to, which in my state, is illegal. This medical episode could have been prevented. It was caused because of this incident and Edward. I am posting this not just so people know about the Maverik, but also to educate anyone who might not know these laws and how they can genuinely affect someone who is disabled. That is also why I will be suing. Educating and uplifting others has always been the entire reason I post. All workplaces should have regular training for staff so they are educated on service dog laws. Your service dog does not mean they have to provide you with service because you can go to a different store. The dog def does not have to have a vest.
