It’s my birthday in a few weeks time and I’ve been thinking about treating myself to a little something, well in all honesty I know I shouldn’t but I just kind of want to so the Birthday excuse sounded quite good. Theres a brand I absolutely adore and I have two of their fragrances and I really want a 3rd, but they have more than a few I’m interested in so its time to narrow the contenders down. The brand is @Electimuss London, and if you have never tried any of their fragrances, I can’t encourage you enough to pay @Jovoy Mayfair a visit and to smell the range. I already own Trajan and in my opinion the brands best fragrance, Astrum Nova, and for my 3rd the shortlist contains Amber Acquilaria – A stunning opening with a fresh bergamot before you get florals from rose, jasmine, and geranium. Then a lovely warm cognac starts and an incredibly smooth woody base with sandalwood and vanilla and aquilaria oud. This is pure class and total luxury, unfortunately I am having to exclude this one due to the cost, at almost £400 its out of my range, Amber Bloom – I think I want this more for the colour of the bottle than the fragrance. On paper I should love this, a sharp very bright citrus opening, grapefruit, mandarin, and bergamot. Lily of the valley, raspberry and passion fruit in the middle and then a base of tonka bean, musk and a woody ambergris. The trouble is there is a salt note in here, it’s a very aquatic scent, and whilst this is a beautiful fragrance, I just don’t see myself reaching for it. Mercurial Cashmere – I thought I had a sample of this but I can’t find it anywhere so this may be a judgement call on the day. Pink pepper and bergamot open the fragrance, then cardamom adds a warmth along with tuberose, amber, violet and iris. The base is magnificent, Vanilla, caramel and tonka bean along with Cashmere woods, cedar and oud. Reverie Haze is a long shot, beautiful yes, tuberose and rose, some green notes and a tropical fruit accord and patchouli. Cashmer wood, Oud mingle and saffron add warmth and then there is a sweet yet smoky base, with amber and vanilla and musk. If I had lottery money this would be a no brainer, but again I’m not sure how much wear I would get from this one. Vesper Reviere – Definitely a strong contender, the fruit opening with blackcurrant, peach, mango and apple is so sweet. Then green tea, hibiscus, lily of the valley, jasmine and magnolia, but it retains that delicious sweetness, it does not turn overly floral for me. A vanilla and sugarcane base along with oud, amber, and musk. Stunningly beautiful, definitely a contender. In pole position though is Caspian Cherry a very sweet open from almond liqueur and black cherry and a slightly bitter sweet chocolate. Honey and Coconut along with coffee and vetiver. And then in the base, tonka sandalwood and white chocolate.
