@ty.prompts.ai: Amazon raised Ring prices again in February. Basic went to 5.99 a month, Plus to 12, and without a plan your camera will not even save the clip you want to watch. These 5 open-source repos replace the whole thing and the footage never leaves your house. Frigate does the person and car detection locally, motionEye turns any old USB webcam into a camera, Scrypted pipes it all into HomeKit and Alexa so you still get a phone app, go2rtc gives you the sub second live view, and Home Assistant sends the alerts with no cloud in the middle. Heads up on hardware: Frigate wants a cheap mini PC and a little AI stick for the detection, not just a bare Raspberry Pi. Save this and go star your favorite. Repos: 1.
