It will be a long journey. My first surgery was 26 hours long, and 13 surgeons operated on me. The doctor told me he had never seen that many surgeons in one room .I had 78 total surgeries and 26 surgeries was back to back. I wrecked on the 26th. My back was fractured in 2 places, and I did not even know until a year later. I was on meds for a few years. One day, I decided i was going to just have to live with the pain, phantom pain, etc. I stopped taking all pain meds. It made me have diarrhea for a few days. I'm just so thankful I'm not addicted to pain meds. They let me come to on the surgery table, and my gosh, that was just bad. The pain was just so bad, well you understand what it's like. As I'm writing this, I can feel my phantom pain trying to kick up on me. If I were you, I dont believe I would try Osseointegration. You always get an infection because, basically, you have an open spot that bacteria can live in. Good luck with everything !
