people are using claude for companionship and coaching, and i have a lot of thoughts on it. anthropic just studied 4.5 million conversations, and a handful of people are using claude for what they call affective (aka human-like) conversations. the two big ways they're using it? 1. interpersonal advice 2. coaching the most shocking thing is that affective conversations only make up 3% of the conversations they reviewed. that is a tiny slice. it's always good to get another perspective, and now you can get two kinds. human perspectives from your people, and research-based perspectives from a model that's read basically everything. how to mend a relationship. how to win a deal. how to handle a hard conversation, personally or professionally. there's real data on all of it, and claude will walk you through it. honestly, i am not opposed. i think it worth using claude for a second opinion. would you take coaching or interpersonal advice from claude? tell me below.
