Yakjuj Makjuj emerged right after Isa Ibn Maryam defeated the dajjal. That means, the time should be turbulent, not peaceful. The malhamah al Kubra (the Great War) already happened where 80 banners/flags came for the Muslims. Muslims sent out their troops, ⅓ will be martyred and automatically awarded with Jannah, ⅓ will run and will end up in Jahannam, and ⅓ will fight on and win. The last campaign against the Dajjal and his followers was when the Mahdi was in Damascus, praying Fajr prayer. He was about to start the prayer, when a man came and prayed behind him in the saf. He will ask the man to lead the prayer, but he refuses. That man is Isa ibn Maryam who just descended from heaven. right after the prayer, Isa Ibn Maryam will leade the believers to kill Dajjal, and when he finally did it, the Yakjuj Makjuj was released. This is how the scholars predicted how it will happen based on what's written in the hadith. Different scholars have different interpretations because the hadith has no specific arrangements. But everything that the prophet s.a.w prophesized in the hadith will definitely happen,that's for sure.
