Update: 7/29/26 Today David started out getting a CT scan to check on ventricles. Unfortunately, it showing build up of CSF fluid in the ventricle. This is caused from what we understand by obstruction, could be residual tumor. Previously the Dr told us he believed he removed 85% of the tumor. So he has 2 EVD drain tubes still in his head draining CSF. Only one has been turned on the last few days so since he got his CT this morning they are going to turn one off and the other on basically switching to see what that does. If nothing helps, discussion of placing a permanent shunt drain in would ensue. We had a long discussion today in the hallway with Dr Aaron with Oncology about the tissue sample results we got back yesterday. Unfortunately, I read the results on MyChart before they could explain. The tumor type is very rare, it is an "Atypical Central Neurocytoma, CNS WHO grade 2". If you Google it, you will find out a lot about it. The Oncology Dr is reluctant to use the words Benign just because under the microscope it shows cells dividing meaning regrowth. Because some of the residual tumor was left in David's brain, the typical treatment is Proton Radiation Therapy which is an advanced type of Radiation which targets and breaks tumor cells DNA while protecting normal tissue. Of course the reason the doctor couldn't remove all of the tumor was because it had grown beyond the wall of the brain into the brain matter which is to dangerous to remove. We haven't made any decisions yet of course, neither have we told David yet. We will be using Children's Life resources to do so though when the time is right. We definitely need prayers. I'm still believing for complete healing, i refuse anything less! Although, Rhonda and I are definitely feeling the weight and heaviness. Basically, our daughter passed of an ultra rare brain disease, and our son literally has the rarest form of tumor not typical even for his age. Less than 1% of all tumors is what David has. To be honest I really don't understand all this and today I'm feeling more frustrated and a little angry. I'm not angry with God or anybody in particular, but David doesn't deserve this! The only thing that makes sense to me is that the bigger the impossibility, the greater the miracle, and the more glory God gets! That's gotta be it! I'm sure the devil loves it when we feel broken and overwhelmed. But with the help of God, I will praise him in this storm and God will get the last say in this matter!
