I listened to this on repeat as a child but in a different perspective. Growing up I was the definition of a daddys girl. My dad got heavily addicted to drugs when I was about 10 & disappeared out of my life for years. Idk why but I didn’t think of this song as a romantic… it made me think of him and our relationship. I wanted him to know I still saw him the same way, he was the still the best daddy in my eyes, & my love for him would never change no matter what his circumstances were. He got past his addiction & completely turned his life around by the time I was 16. I’m 33 now & we talk EVERY SINGLE DAY. He tells me my love for him is most definitely what brought him out of his addiction. My love never changed for my Dad. 💕
