However, Set’s jealousy ended this peace when he killed Osiris, cut his body into pieces, and scattered them across Egypt. This marked the beginning of Isis’s journey. She did not surrender to loss, but instead traveled across the land searching for him until she gathered his body parts and reassembled him with her magic. With the help of Anubis, he was mummified. She was able to bring him back to life for a moment, just long enough to conceive Horus. Although Osiris passed away, their story did not end. He became the god of the underworld, while Isis devoted her life to protecting their son.
