@emma.lifeinchina: When I first landed in China, I was £1500 in my overdraft with zero idea who I was or what I was doing. Two years later I came back with a positive bank balance and a TEFL certificate.. still none the wiser. And while I recognise my privilege as a white British passport holder, the 1.4 billion people from every background imaginable building genuinely wild success stories doing all sorts of different things.. Gives me the feeling that everything is possible. And more importantly - because of the cost of living, whether I had £30k or £100 in my bank account, I could always afford to buy myself a bunch of flowers. So while everyone says there’s no freedom in China, I think they’re wrong. Follow along for part 2 🇨🇳
