I let my trading bot run for a week without checking individual engine results. Big mistake. When I finally pulled the data, one engine had lost $270 in 11 days. Another had a 8.8 percent win rate — wrong 91 percent of the time. Here is what was broken and what I fixed tonight. The movement engine placed 616 trades and lost $270. It was built to follow price moves — if a market spiked up, it bought YES. The problem is that by the time the price moved, the information was already priced in. The bot was buying at the peak every single time. I rebuilt it to do the opposite. Now when a price spikes up, it bets the price will revert back down. Price overreactions are the opportunity, not the signal to follow. Minimum move threshold raised from 8 cents to 12 cents. Minimum edge raised from 10 to 15 percent. The NBA live arbitrage engine had an 8.8 percent win rate across 80 trades for a $47 loss. It was comparing Kalshi prices to DraftKings live odds looking for arbitrage. The problem is NBA markets on these two platforms diverge for legitimate structural reasons — it is not real arbitrage. Removed NBA from live arb entirely. MLB and NHL remain. The pre-game engine had a 7.1 percent win rate on NBA trades. NBA prediction markets are much more efficient than MLB. Sharp money moves faster. Running the same edge threshold for both does not work. Added per-sport thresholds — NBA now requires 25 percent edge versus Vegas, NHL requires 15 percent, MLB stays at 8 percent. The momentum engine was the most fundamental problem. It was calculating edge by comparing Kalshi prices to a baseline of 50 cents. That is not a real edge. The data confirmed this — winning trades had an average edge of 25.2 percent, losing trades had 24.4 percent. The model could not tell a good bet from a bad one. Rebuilt it tonight to fetch live consensus odds from DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM every two minutes. Now it only trades when Kalshi is genuinely mispriced versus what the sharpest books in the country say the real probability is. Also added a system preventing the bot from ever betting both teams in the same game. Raised position sizing from 25 to 35 percent Kelly since fewer but higher quality trades means each one needs to carry more weight. This is what building in public actually looks like. Not just the wins. Pricing goes up soon. Anyone who joins now is grandfathered in at the current rate forever. kalshibotpro.com #Kalshi #PredictionMarkets #TradingBot #BuildInPublic #PassiveIncome
